Those rocker guards look pretty decent for the money. Tempting to grab a set to cover up the one rust spot in my tub, honestly.
I think Smittybilt is basically pulling out of Canada now. So if you want them, they may not be available later.

Didn’t know about them pulling out. Reality of where I live and the cost of steel I’m not saving much by doing it myself. And it’ll be forever before I get anything done like that. As much as I want to grow my skills and do stuff better , some stuff just isn’t worth it. They are decent enough material, on par with what I’d have built. The cuts at the end don’t really line up with the flares well, again much like I’d probably build. The powder coat seems heavy so I didn’t redo it to save time, then I drug it a tiny bit on the floor and it scraped off fairly easily so I mine wind up redoing it at a later date.

Looks okay from that angle. At least it doesn't stick out too far.
The textured powdercoat on the bumpers I bought from them (for my orange JK, way back in the day) did fail after a few years of rock chips. I suspect that is the same textured stuff.

I’ve run enough that I think I can say this torq locker in the front is probably the best locker I’ve ran, including the rubicon selectable lockers. My daughter was driving and turned around on gravel and the locker smoothly ratcheted. It’s been super smooth and predictable and the traction is outstanding.

Got some time at work and some motivation to get this project started. It’s ready to weld out tomorrow. I used 16 gauge because the millwright at work wanted 1/8 plate. But I should have used 18 or 20 gauge. It’s pretty heavy. I may put some strategic speed holes to lighten it up once it’s built. Cutting around the hinge and latch kinda messed me up and it’s not super clean but once it’s got stuff in it you won’t see it. I'm planning on using rivnuts to hold it to the door, not sure how many. 8-10 probably. I’ll use some plywood on the floor of the Jeep to shim the toolbox tight so when the door is closed it won’t hold any of the weight.

Millrights with a plasma table make some heavy stuff. That’s as light as he works with. Even at 16 gauge with it welded up and the corner gusset on this is really beefy. Buddy with the yj, lift kit from pointsnorth, shot the stuff. This is the Cameron lane trail, which is what Eris is built for. I didn’t film at all. There’s skinny bypass sections atv width, washouts , mud, swamp/skeg. My jeep worked well. He broke an axle u joint once we got through most of the tough stuff. We gambled a bit trying to make a loop that years ago when I wheeled this area couldn’t be made but it’s fairly dry these days so we tried it and made it.

First time on the highway in crappy snow built up with under it with the locker up front. It’s driveable. Definitely better than the other full time lockers I had as it’s predictable and smooth. It does in longer corners though kinda Jack the front suspension up then drop which is probably made worse by my short arms, soft rubber bushings and soft springs and 14psi in the tires on the way home.

I’m glad I did the bumpstops in this. The terraflex progressive foams I think might have saved a bent diff. I got going a bit hot into a whoop section of road. Probably foot deep whoops and icy, I managed to mix the brake and throttle to milk the first few fully cycling my suspension but I goosed it a bit much on one and got the timing wrong and smashed the last 3 on the brakes and crashed into the lips of them hitting full metal to metal completely blowing through the stops but it wasn’t harsh at all. Trying to scrub down from 60-70km/h on the ice didn’t bode well, especially with only 2.5” of lift but it works well.
