That’s my thought. Road manners are the hard part to building a solid wheeler. A good set of shocks and I feel like this would be a great rig. Im pretty happy with it, as long as the tires don’t suck off road.

I’m pretty happy with the new tires. They don’t have the grip on the icy stuff like the iroks. They need a little more break in time. We cut up Steve’s cooper stt pro’s a lot. It really helped them. The milestars are really soft. I decided to open 3 of 4 center lugs with a 2/32 blade and add one cut/sipe to each outside block.

The roads were really slippery today and without a benchmark tire it’s hard to say much for sure. The drivability is a lot better over the iroks. The suspension moves better and it handles way better aside from getting more body roll which may be from not enough air pressure. I was running 10 psi for most of our tour once off the plowed road. We got to one narrow off camber trail and Steve slid off the road with one front tire. Was a big drop off. He managed to hit neutral and roll backwards onto the trail. He managed to get past it with momentum but my front Locker wouldn’t let me steer enough to do the same so I aired down to 6 psi and the tires came around. I’ve got a lot more power and even ran high range for a large portion of the day which I could never do with the iroks.

Looks like they shed the snow pretty good compared to the cooper stt. Thats always been a turn off for me as far as a radial for snow wheeling. Athough tire compound tech has come along way in the last ten years. Im running the Toyo extreme at 2 on my daily/towrig in a 35 and they are amazing in snowy conditions

I’m not sure if shedding the snow is a good thing or not. One big thing is that my iroks always seemed to dig. Even rolling downhill the tracks looked like they were chewing and scrubbing. These tires always leave perfect tracks. Even the coppers seemed to rip stuff up. Early on in 2wd Steve could spin and chew to the dirt and go. But I ran 2wd longer, and I could chew dirt up but it didn’t seem to help traction much

This is how it sits now. All 4 tires center groove and out side siped. The rear I used a 4/32 blade so I put 2 cuts instead of one. This is mostly to help in the slick conditions.

Well got a solid run in. Wet snow and fairly deep. The drifts were headlight deep at 3.5 psi. The milestars did really well. Steves Cooper stt pros on the other hand might be getting sold. He spun out at 5 psi in the middle of the road. Brian in the mitsubishi with wore out claws pulled even with him while in the ditch. After they both got moving I passed them and cruised right up. Was a steep pull. I was fighting snowmobile tracks and tire ruts under the snow. In these conditions going up through the trees I feel the milestars were a dead heat with the iroks. Steve said they didn’t float like the iroks but I never felt much difference aside from having more power and control with the milestars. Once we hit the alpine meadow the snow was more sugary and that’s where I think the iroks would have done better but both tires are to small for that much sugar snow. At the meadow I let Steve go try the coopers out and sat back and made fun of him.

A little before and after. Brian in the Mitsubishi jeep has headlight restoration down pat. He grabbed my spare set and cleaned them up as my ones in this rig are worse than what these ones started at. He sands them down at work and gives them to the paint booth and when he’s spraying clear coat he sprays the headlights to. They come out like new and seem to last well

You'd never know those were the same headlights. I kinda want to try it on my GMC, but I don't have any decent clear on hand. Not sure if the rattle can type is worth using.
