Re: Project Lay-Z-Boy
So is it a binding issue that is killing the bushings?

I’m not sure why. It was a used bar so I figured they were old, but when I tossed the bar in I had very little play and it hasn’t gone very far and now it moves a lot.pointsnorth wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 6:00 am So is it a binding issue that is killing the bushings?

Re: Project Lay-Z-Boy
They're just poly bushings?
Most Jeep lifts have horrifically undersized track bars and bushings. It seems because the factory did it wrong that the aftermarket thinks it's okay to do it wrong too.

Re: Project Lay-Z-Boy
Track bar bushings showed up yesterday, so today I installed them. Cheap kinda hard plastic bushings, and you guys also called it. My track bar is binding a bit. I had to push the axle side back 3/8” to drop it in so that’s probably not helping it any. My frame side bracket was built for a lighter bar so the jk ones are tight. Bending the bracket to fit it in has misaligned the bar slightly. For now I’ll run it. Hope it makes the winter. If it won’t last I’ll have to figure out how to tweak it.

If these ones don’t last I’ll look into it. I got the bar for free so im not totally sure what shape it was in the first time. But it had less flex in it that the other bar that I bent.

Re: Project Lay-Z-Boy
Found a used set of 17x8 with the correct backspace locally here which is good, I didn’t realize how much rims went up in the last year or so. I paid $70 for my 15x10’s new. Now try steels base price are double that. Anyways they had a poorly done and peeling Plasti dip job. So my girlfriend being as supportive as she is spent an hour and a half peeling plasti dip with me to find the bare aluminum parts of the rim we’re corroded and needed another hour of sanding for each of us. I’m using duplicolor wheel paint to do the outer lip that’s corroded.

Re: Project Lay-Z-Boy
Did those tires have good reviews for offroad use, or are you just going for it by ordering them?
