Not a 4x4 but trying to keep motivated so this might help. Plus lots of metal fab and tech so hopefully it fits. Had the 68 charger for awhile and its getting close to being in primer. All the big stuffs done but now its the details. Specificaly the rear window lower corners a famously difficult patch. Compound bends and it needs to match the rear window trim but not warp the b pillar.

Not sure but need to figure out soon as it defines if i need to open up the trans tunnel.
Heres your sign to not restore a car. Every amd panel hasnt fit worth a shit. These are the "best" you can get unfortunately. I learned that the deck filler plates have been stamped over 1/4" too narrow for the past decade. Gotta figure out how to widen it without warping it badly now.

All of that stuff is so slow if you want it to line up, you just have to keep picking away at it.

Did you figure out how to stretch that deck plate? Carter Autobody Restyling, I think it is, on Youtube, he's a super greasy Saskatchewanian but has lots of good info on that sort of stuff.

Havent got to the deck plate yet. Annoyed at lack of progress so got an easy win. Whipped up an inner fender brace for all the chassis twisting horse ponies.

These old cars are generally all pretty wet noodley compared with modern stuff, that's for sure.

Yeah theres a couple spots that benefit from some extra structure. Front rad support, frame connectors, torque boxes. I will be addressing pretty much all of these. Im not racing it so it shouldnt be needed I hope but who knows what will dawn the engine bay.

Still here not for lack of trying. Sliced up the deck filler plate and welded it back together where I think it needs to be with minor warpage. Found the right rear tail panel is 1/2" too high but 1 crisis at a time as they say.

Deck filler plate is welded in. I can see now one side is kind of high. I am repairing the tail panel theres a bunch of nightmare fuel going on there. Hopefully i can get it lined up. Also hellcat!

I see you got one of those hand held belt sanders . i use mine so much now that finally got one
