Warn clean up

Post by Scoobienorth »

My m8000 needs a clean up. I’ve got it mostly apart because I’m dumb and didn’t take the line off it before removing it from the red wj, as it was fairly integrated it meant completely unwiring it and unbolting the winch halves so I could get the line off it.

The m8000 won’t go into freespool. And after I rewired it would only power in not out when trying to remove the line. I may have messed something up since I didn’t mark where the wires came from and all the marks are worn off. The grease is pretty nasty looking which kinda surprises me since it’s hardly ever been in mud and been covered up in my bumper.

That being said I’ve also got an old 9500 warn that I was going to clean up as well.

What grease should I use? Anything else to check or pay specially attention to while it’s off?
