Shuswap boys winter wheeling thread

Post by Scoobienorth »

Well I’ll call this first official winter wheeling trip, didn’t make our destination, called it quits so close to the mara mt fire lookout after I fell off the road over the bank. Easy enough recovery with a little winch and traction mats. The blizzard was getting worse, Day was getting late so we backed down and headed for home. The Bajaclaws were killing it early on but as we got higher the drifts and icy conditions meant I went up front with the push block in the hitch so I could receive my gentle poundings when the trail became blocked. Once we hit the switchbacks it was hard enough keeping up they couldn’t push me. Super tight with snow drifts meant it was a tough slog up through them. Our tracks on the way down were even hard to find. I suspect we are the last tired vehicles up there in 2019

We wanted to sign the log book but never made it up. Would’ve been nice though to be the last vehicle up there this year

It’s been snowing hard through today up there and the snow line is way down. But it’s supposed to warm up a bit.

You don’t need insta to look through his pics but Brian in the Mitsubishi got a few good pics of the conditions and how deep the snow was as I was working up the switchbacks

Actually the link works awesome on my phone. Can scroll the pics on this page and thinking about it more this is how forums should be integrating with social media links. Most wont do that with instagram

Yeah, embedding/integrating content was important to me so I found an extension that would do it. It seems to work well with most things. There's a few other extensions I'd like to implement but some of them don't work quite right.

I'm trying. But I can't make people join. :homer:

I know lots of people post stuff on Instagram, pasting the link over here is pretty easy. Hopefully they do that. Good way of boosting content and conversations

Went rock crawling since we got a big rainstorm and wind that knocked our snowpack down. Steve walked off a 3 foot rock while filming and spotting me and spilled some blood. Few stitches after clearing up on the first aid kit in the bush

Damn, he went down hard.

Looked like a nice little boulder field you had there though.
