Oh yeah, I forgot about the steering ramifications for you losing a belt.

Re: How to build and kill a trail truck
truck was running like ass at the race, could hear an exhaust leak but thought it was just the small crack i had found in my one header. so i ordered new headers, same ching chong ones i was running. turns out my leak was little more then just a header crack, found a big nasty one on my exhaust pipe right after the header flange. figured it would be an easy fix of put new headers on and weld a new flange part on and be good. well turns out the ching chong headers where a little off from the olds ones, about inch and half off so had to re work the Y pipe
with the crack fixed, new headers and gaskets truck ran best it ever has. went wheeling and no more stalling, running rich or backfires so really happy with it now.

Re: How to build and kill a trail truck
finally got around to fixing my steering. when i busted it at Insanity Fab i bought a new joint off another racer and fixed it there so i could get it back on the trailer then just never did anything after that. so pretty sure the drivers tire was pointing off as never aligned it or anything and been wheeling and racing it like that
went with EMF ball sockets and 7/8 joints so should not have any more failures and if i do it will be the ram or knuckle now

Re: How to build and kill a trail truck
lame update but its been a while
went and raced and brought the suck, truck had exhaust leak issues again, and blew the upper rad hose off
my attempt to fix it at the race with some muffler repair tape, pop can and hose clamps failed
patched the exhaust back together and a few other things and went night snow wheeling
almost rolled it into a waste deep frozen water crossing, to keep from going over i had the Welfare put his front bumper into my door and used him as a pivot point
door is mint

Re: How to build and kill a trail truck
went to go and start the pos the other weekend and was just getting the old click click click. so put the battery charger on it and cleaned all my connections and still would not start, even tried and nothing. was seeing that as soon as i went to key power i would drop down to 9.5volts and that not even turning my efi or ignition on. bypassed my batteries and was still having same issue so did some more testing and talking the the mexican mechanic and found out my alternator was drawing as soon as i went key power. bypassed the alternator and was still on jumpers and would still not start, starter was drawing so much power it would not turn the truck over. so as on right now it needs an alternator, starter and from a few test ive done 2 new yellow tops

Re: How to build and kill a trail truck
When ur testing for power and are curious of amps its a good idea to use the old test light rather than multi meter i find. A shitty conection can still give you 12 volts but practically zero amps.
Thats my tech tip and hope it helps lol.
