Mosquitoes

Post by Scott Cee AKA 2drx4 »

Anyone else felt they've been bad this year? Or is my backyard just the epicenter of hell?

It's bad enough I'm debating buying one of those trap things like the Mosquito Magnet. I don't know if they actually work though. :rasta:

Last time I went out wheeling they were friggen ridiculous.... not bad in town though. The odd one in my backyard. I’m thinking the stupid amount of rain and humidity is making em multiply.

My yard is still squishy it's so wet. Normally it's dry by the end of March. So there's definitely more breeding potential for them out here than normal.

They are bad this year I’ve resorted to one of those electric bug swatters for the office at work. Having the shop doors open even minimally during the day seems give them ample opportunity to make their way into the building

Barely been above freezing here. Today was the second day I've been bit, last time was Friday of the May long weekend. We were snow wheeling to get into camp and the fuckers were out in the snow biting.

Edit: We were wheeling a giant turd BTW. Jeep Liberty that I lincoln locked with a 1/4 inch skid plate and giant front bumper that made the entire front end run 1/2 inch above bump stops.

It warmed up here enough early on that they all hatched/woke up. Then back to cold misery and wet. But not cold enough to kill them.

The WHO and Teresa Tam have gone back and forth on what is or isn't possible with it to the point that I'm sure they'll bring it up as a possibility again after saying before that it wasn't. :ogre:

The place I was staying at near Smithers was infested with them.

I hate to think of how bad the mosquitoes would have been if we didn't have a bat infestation, because they were still fucking horrible. :lmao:

It was fun to drink a beer at dusk and watch them all launch themselves out from under the roof and start eating bugs though.
