Fed up with the stock plastic and cladding on the stock YJ dash, I decided to swap it out.
I initially was going to swap in the dashboard from a Deuce and a Half, as they are the same height and but a few inches wider, but at the time I did this work I did not have sufficient facilities to do a proper job.
Instead, I decided to skeletonize the YJ dash.
All the plastic and cladding were removed, as was the dash intself. I then proceeded to drill holes for switches, indicator lamps, and so on.
Out back I used terminal strips for a hot bus, a switched bus, and a ground bus.
I retained the stockk gauges for now. The stock gauge cluster will eventually be replaced with mechanical gauges on an aluminum panel. I will retain the stock tach and speedo as I like the way they look (I did paint the barrels black).
I will also to something with the large area where the glove box assembly used to live. Not sure yet. For now, the CB lives underneath and I have no stereo/head unit. (Haven't missed one yet.) As you can see, I did run the stock glovebox cluster temporaily for one long crosscountry drive.
Questions welcome.

Umm, the 4.0L does that automatically. No need for switches.pointsnorth wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 7:15 pmthere is at least two for smoke and oil slick for anyone following him
