Re: Not a jeep person
Went riding a few times. Found a few weak links. Was a little stiff in the steering. Had a trac-loc limited slip from the factory. Pick a wheel up in front and it was done. Decided a locker was needed. Went with a Grizzly, Yukon locking hubs. When I pulled the axles one u-joint was so stiff I could not bend it. Found a fellow selling RCV axles. Did king pins, bearings, spindles, cause why not,in there anyway. While I had the axle out went on and changed the cross member and engine mounts to ORD. Put an ORD steering brace in too. Used DIY4x4 rear shock mount.
Got a winch mount welded on the brush guard, Cheap 12000lbs china winch mounted to it.
trac-loc that was removed.

I really like how you incorporated the winch mount with the factory bumper/bush bar, looks good.

Yes, once a little pressure is applied the carrier just comes right out or in. Get crazy with it and it can spring on even crack the housing,I am told.

Re: Not a jeep person
Do those derlin spindle bearings hold up well for regular use, or are they just better for people that run into a lot of water and mud?

Re: Not a jeep person
Actually most dealerships I’ve worked at are required to have a case spreader as part of their shop inventory but due too the chance of cracking or springing the housing it’s generally off limits for the most part
