No pics but I removed both fronts off the rim cleaned them out, run a layer of duct tape and reinstalled them dry no balance at all and I’ll try that. The passenger side had about 0.75L of water in it. Drivers side had lots of gravel between the beads and rim. Surprised it held air. I’m going to try no balancing and see how it does and if it’s tolerable I’ll leave it like that.

Just got back here this morning from a test drive. Honestly this is the best it’s been with these tires on so far. I think a little more caster and it would be about as good as it gets. Once the tires are warmed up they barely vibrate at all. Not sure I’m sold on balancing bigger tires. Just doesn’t seem that effective. I’m not sure id run iroks again though. I’m sold on radials.

The other thing I’ve noticed is that the lokka up front will be a big step forward at times but really sucks on hardpack, and because my gearing sucks I use low range a lot. But I really can’t steer going up hill. I might need to do my rear axle swap and regear it. Really trying to quit working on this thing so I can move onto something else.

Yeah, the front Lokka in my Comanche does all sorts of weird shit when snow wheeling, it makes the steering a bit more of an art than a science.

I definitely need more seat time to say anything definitive but it’s actually been smoother than I thought it would be. I’d suspect if I have something reasonable for rim width and backspace it would be dare I say good. When installed I’m a couple thousands further apart than it specs for but really close so maybe that’s part of it. Between the crow hop from the ujoint and my power steering not strong enough it never cornered that great to start with. Now the locker wants it’s $.02 in the mix too. If I’m off the gas it’s open. Steers normal. Any power and it’s locked and smooth. The Detroit in the rear of the TJ-6 was terrible. It banged chirped tires was rough and would stay locked up at times. This is completely different

Got a solid shakedown run in with Steve and his rubi. I can lift one tire a honest 34” now, possibly a little more. We actually measured it but the ground wasn’t level. This things working really well. Feels well sorted now. 100km/h on the roads with one hand on the wheel. Super slick trails and did well. No issues.

Ya get enough flex outta that thing it looks like the right rear tire moves forward pretty far. :thumbsup:

Part of that is that when I tubbed my wheel wells I stretched them back a few inches so I could stretch my wheelbase. If I centered the tire I could get 38’s in it with minimal bumpstop but currently the tire is forward in the wheel well . I’m also on stock arms in the rear which are pretty short so it does move forward quite a bit.

Here’s a shot towards the top of our climbs, we had two big climbs up after this. Low visibility, snow, fog and slick trails. Video should be together tomorrow or next day

. Snow wheeling should be incoming soon here if it doesn’t get warm and rain up too. This should be above 1600meters of elevation, closer to 2000 if I can read my maps correctly

It was that slippery we just flippped the Jeep and slid right up. If you click on the pic it shows it correctly
