yup pestered the fuck out of him for about 8 weeks after the initial 4 it took him to respond...was pretty quick to cash the check though...

Today I cut three feet off the end of the frame. It may go a bit shorter, if so, only 6 more inches max. That would be about a 4'-6" box, and yes, I am keeping the sheet metal back there.
I also bought a couple Barnes 4x4 trusses. Got a great deal on the bridge and pinion guard. Only paid six bucks! With free shipping it was only about 390 for all three items.

It was one of their deals. I got lucky on timing. They're definitely quality pieces, i can't wait to abuse them

whats happening with the rear? 4 link or trailing arms?

So, leaf springs, coils, coilovers?

And what size are them tires?

The plan is front 3 link with 2.5x14 coilovers with res, and hydro bumps. It will have an 08 super duty front 60 with 4.88 gears and hopefully an arb. Hydro assist for now.
The rear is the 14 bolt out of this truck 4.88 gears with an arb if I'm a good boy going with triangulated 4 link and also a pair of 2.5x14 coilovers and hydros.
Those are 37" bias treps, but the end goal is to be on 40" sticky treps so that's what I'm building it for.

Thanks! It's been a slow process. The sheet metal is a must if i want my wife to come with me. She's a bit particular when it comes to how a truck is supposed to look
The cross member came out pretty nice and is incredibly strong. It will make a nice base for a flat belly skid. Easter Sunday i got the trans, under drive, and t case mocked in.... luckily it all clears the c member by about 1/2"... lucky for me
Now I'm working on cleaning my shop...i can't stand how cluttered it is. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll be done with that and get back to the truck. Lots to do

I'm gonna try to make a front bumper that you will approve of It will be similar to the old one, maybe even use some of those pieces, but it will be filled in the middle instead of having a gap. That's a little way off though...

as long as you build it so you can get the winch in and out you will be doing better then me

Haha, yeah it will be very similar in mounting to the old one. 5/16 plate with flanges to pull the entire plate and winch in one shot with bolts you can actually get to lol. With the steering box +3" forward, i may have to get creative with the cross member up there... plus still not sure but the steering box may have to go forward another 2 or 3 inches to get the up travel and tire clearance I'm after. I really need to get my shocks, bumps, and at least one 40" tire to get this axle swinging...
