Thanks man and I agree, but I think a lot of it has to do with the huge aftermarket support for the XJ. The V8 and full load options were the deal breaker for me. This is my first Jeep build and as i get further into it I can see there isn't alot of aftermarket support for the ZJ

Test fitted the bezel and all clears. Removed it again to work on the cooler mounts I’ll be marking for the trans and steering, and also clearance cut the front inner fenders

I’m really thinking of getting a set of these at all 4 corners. I feel like after all the weight of bumpers/spare tire and gear this thing will be squatted. I really like that they’re adjustable. Any Jeep guys have or heard of any issues with these? They look to be of decent quality and JKS seems to be good stuffImage

They work good. But personally I've always felt they're bad value versus just buying a stack of random thickness spacers and swapping them as required. :lmao:

I was thinking of making them as I have a set of fox hydro bumps just sitting on the shelf and incorporate them into the fronts. But at $220 I have a hard time justifying spending the time to turn them out

Little more work last night. Picked up 2 flat fin fluid coolers, one for trans and other for steering. Want to mount them in front of the AC condenser

Image

Little bigger than I had planned but they’ll work

Image

So I started building a bojank mount and halfway through decided it wasn’t going to work. Decided on Keeping it simple stupid. Little mock up, just need some fasteners and a bracket or two but you get the idea

Will just tie it into the existing mounts and call it good. I’ll loose a bit of flow as they are behind the frame section but I think it’ll be fine.

So forgot to grab bolts yesterday so moved onto mounting the air compressor. When I purchased it I didn’t realized how much of a pain in the ass it was going to be to find a suitable mounting location, as it’s quite large. After trying a few locations I figured I could squeeze it in the front air box location and just run a cold air style intake.

So removed the air box

Test fit

It needed to be raised up slightly to clear so made a mounting plate

And made some spacers.
Little trick for those that may not know. 1/2 pipe is perfect for pressing in a 5/16 nut. Works like a hot damn. They press in nice and tight, super quick and easy.

Works mint and won’t come out

Mounted the spacers in the factory air box holes and marked the plate and welded them to it

And mounted the compressor in

Here’s the cone filter I plan to use to give you an idea. There is a plastic cover in the fender I will pop out and should give plenty of air

They are a Hayden aux oil cooler from Napa, and are decent quality. I have run them on various rigs in the past and currently run one on the Skinny Chicken for steering cooler with good results.
