Re: Island cup 2020
Been getting some seat time in the f-toy every chance I get, getting a feel for what it can do and what I need to work on.
Burned 5 tanks of propane already...
Toying with some ideas for decals, pay no attention to my terrible Photoshop skills...
Gonna be building a windshield cause snow wheeling without one is kinda cold, and I'm planning on using the leftover pieces of lexan? Margard? Plexi? To make floor/firewall panels so I can see my front tires better.
Kinda like a windshield for short people?....

Picking these up in van next weekend.
The KMC beadlocks, not the trophies...
They come with some 34" km2's that will be for sale for a good price if anyone is interested.

Lexan gets mangled pretty fast if you're doing floor panels with it, but definitely don't use plexi. Or that crap homodepot sells.

Re: Island cup 2020
Whatever you decide be warned that margaurd is quite pricey. They quoted me over 1G to do my windshield in my truck. Was $380 for them to remove, modify new and install glass. If it was me Id get some lexan for the screen, drill out holes and zapstrap it to the cage for winter, RainX it heavy and try not to wipe it too much.

I can get a piece of margaurd from a skidder that has a crack.
Usually can get a big enough piece to do a windshield

Re: Island cup 2020
Amazon switch panel showed up, should make night wheeling easier as none of the switches in the buggy are lighted, and 50% of them are upside down.
As much as I love snow wheeling I also can't wait for it to be gone so I get this thing in the rocks and trees and flog on it.

Re: Island cup 2020
I'm not sure if these colors make my f-toy faster or if they make Ivan's Stewart's tundra slower...
Dave at Dynamic GFX took my idea and made it happen.
If anyone need decals, signs, wraps etc and doesn't want to get hosed he's the guy to talk to.
I got him to add a clear protective wrap on top of the decal to try and minimize scratches, I imagine I'm gonna destroy them pretty quick regardless though

It's a great event for spectating, non stop action and your right there, and a great group of rednecks to drink beer with around the fire.Haywire Fab wrote:Noice dude. I wanna go just to spectate this year. Buddy of mine has been talkin my ear off about goin for the past month
Competing makes me a bit nervous to be honest, it's very much a make it or break it type of a comp.
So I'm sure I will be shattering my fair share of Toyota junk or ending up on my lid lots, lol.

Re: Island cup 2020
Fire extinguisher mount from backdoor Fab. You don't need a fire extinguisher to pass island cup tech, but I want one...
Switch panels mostly installed, gotta do gauges still but the rest of the wiring is all new and should be reliable, and I'm gonna eventually enclose behind the panel with aluminum to minimize wiring getting wet, but it'll do for now.
