The insert idea intrigues me. Metal clamps and taking it in and out of the oven (kick the wife/GF out of the kitchen first) probably could get that sucked into shape nicely.

Cage looks just greasy enough Erik. I love it.
You guys are definitely farther ahead than me and rob, lol.
We went through his Jeep and gave it a much needed "tune up" changed a bunch of fluids, bearings, seals, balljoints, ect.
Built a harness bar, fire extinguisher mounts, fixed his front locker, new leafs, new winch w/syn rope. Mostly just undid years of neglect...
Got a set of 40" pro comp mt2's coming for next week that will be mounted on trail gear beadlocks, and still have to do bumpstops, rear diff truss, exhaust, window nets, and a bunch more gussetting and cage work before I'm comfortable. And a test run would be all right too...
Really looking forward to getting down there and flogging it wether we are ready or not though.

Leaving after work wed at the latest.
I still have to pull my dually and gooseneck in the shop and spend a few days getting it ready, and get tools and spare parts sorted out too.

Trust me, Ive thought about it, lol.
Would be a way better tool for the job in my opinion.
I can't pick it up till Jan 4th though, kindoff a tight timeline...

Re: 2020 Insanity Fab Winter Challenge Prep
finished up a few small things and re valved my coil overs to firm them up and what a difference that made. went out on boxing day and trucks worked great and think we are both race ready. Welfare does need some parts as had a small issue but should be fixed pretty quick
pics
warmed up in the afternoon and started to brake through the ice in spots and found us some good holes
welfare busted an axle shaft trying to get out

Although it probably makes more sense for him to step up to the 05+ or even newer stuff first. Definitely a better axle to build off.
