4l80 to ford 271

Post by pointsnorth »

has anyone ever looked into this? maybe thought of ditching the triton spark plug popping turd and the leaky overheating sob we all call the 4r100 for some thing better :stirpot:

Or maybe since your putting superduty axles under you chevy you might as well get rid of that ticking time bomb hanging off of the back of your transmission?

did some digging and there is a diesel shop south of the border offering a ford nv 271 as a replacement behind a allison so its got to be something simple as they neither show or mention any special adapters in the kit parts list. I know you can swap the guts out of a dodge case into the ford case and all that required is filing two of the bolts holes on the transmission

Hmm, what's the output/input spline situation like?

what does it take to put a ford 205 behind the 4l80? as there is no difference in bolt pattern and spline for a ford 205 and a 99-04 271.
