Smittybuilt 2781 mod

Well I modified the chuck and as the smittybuilt end won’t go over my J-flators which is why I originally put dual valve stems in my steel wheels. My aluminum wheels I don’t want to go that route. So I pulled the guts out of a clip on tire end as to not dead head the compressor. Since then I started freezing up on the smittybuilt gauge/bleed down. Now it’s12.5 feet of 5/16 transmission line right to the valve stem. The compressor was always faster without the curly hose. It’s dumb easy to take apart. It’s just a spring over a barn fitting. Pull the spring back and it slides apart. Should air up pretty fast especially as the J-flator flows more air than the standard valve stem as well.

Makes sense to do it that way.

Never clocked how long it took before but it’s noticeably quicker. Steves 35” tires on 16” rims took 2 mins 10 seconds from 2-20 psi. The hose is a lot less of a fight to. Definitely a good mod for these compressors. Run cooler to.
