So I took some time off last week to get a good bite out of the Jeep. I really wanted to get both diffs/suspension/Steering complete but the damn Rona is jamming up my parts shipment. Anyways got the 8.8 completed and brakes plumbed.

Pulled the front out to do some Trac Bar mount mods

Cut a piece of 2x3 tubing and worked out well. Plan is to raise the mount up by 1.5” to better jive with my drag link angles

Ground to fit and laminated another piece to beef it up

Bent around

And drilled. I left a gap above the laminated piece to get a solid weld on both. Worked out.

I also finally found a NP231J and over paid for it :homer: but it will be getting a full rebuild with HD Chain and a SYE. Next up is to pull the box out and drill and tap for Hydro Assist, make up a new Trac bar as my Heims showed up and drag link and Tie Rod.

You needed a NP231J? I have like 2 or 3 of them or something. :homer:

Nice job on raising the track bar mount.

And I hear you on the 'rona virus ruining the parts supply. Shipping times are so unpredictable it makes it hard to plan anything.

NEWB Question :flipoff: So I pulled the 249 out and am going to temp install the 231 until my rebuild parts and SYE kit arrive so the jeep is at least mobile. I noticed the senors had different size pin connectors, the speed sensor swapped over no problem but my issues is the 4WD indicator sensor. I searched and seen lots of guys pulling apart the dash and harness to get it to work, fuck that.

-Will the NP231 Sensor from a 4.0 ZJ work? or do I have to rewire the harness because mine was a full time 4wd?

Got the box tapped and back in the Jeep. Sling the front diff back under it. Made up a mock trac bar. Went with 7/8 helms and up sized the bolts to 9/16. Had to turn down the misalignment spacers

Happy with the angles and started putting the springs and shocks back in
