have to wash this thing and look for damage. as of right now i can see that either the rear coil mount or the body has given out as they are way closer to each other then before the weekend

have a line on an explorer 8.8 and a hp30 from a 1998 xj now. the vtreads are being left of the explorer wheels so that saves me having to find set now. Pointsnorth has a body that is 20 times better then what im working with now, so just need some steel to build a new frame. leaning towards ditching the rear link set up and doing YJ rear leafs on the new frame set up

I think your headed in the right direction. Build a simple frame, the leafs are easy to get going, Should work really well. My grands has similar rear coil setup as the suzuki. I swapped the upper back joint arm for 2 arms and made a short arm 4 link really easily. But I suspect I’ve got longer a arms so it travels better

i know the factory rear trailing arm mount made a good front spring hanger for yj leafs with only a minor rear frame extention added for the shackle mount

so patched the body and frame some more so we could take this out on the weekend. did not take any pictures of all the angle iron i bogger welded to the body and frame to attach the two and hold the body back up after it collapsed.

went for a little shit box sunday cruise and runner did pretty good, needs gears pretty bad as has no real power or gears to crawl anything even remotely difficult.

oh ive already thought about it

need a turbo off a 1.6 vw and a boost reference fuel pressure regulator and good to go

no turbo yet. have lots of other stuff to do to make it an ok wheeler before i blow the motor and front axle to bits

kinda missing this coffin on wheels as it was a fun little rig. just keep seeing dollar signs and lots of work in its future if i kept it
