Put rs9000xl rancho shocks in up front, setting 8 of 9 seems to be the sweet spot for on and offroad balance. 9 is better in the street but harsh in the rough gravel at 30 psi. Got rid of a lot of the bad handling it had. After sitting all summer almost All of my suspension bushings squeak and is driving me nuts. Going to daily drive this thing for 3-6 months depending on how the milestar likes the ice in 2wd or until it breaks down

Yeah, 5000km offroad is a little harder than on road.

Finally got out for a wheeling trip with the new shocks and milestars in something other than snow. I’ve got to say I’m super impressed with how it’s working now. The shocks completely changed the ride and it sits flatter and suspension works. I was cruising over 1 foot plus rocks and cab wasn’t getting beat up or tossed. Barely hit the bumpstops. The tires are really impressing me. It was a thick greasy mud on the rocks, as slippery as I’ve seen it up there and they did really well, dare I say better then the iroks and every bit as good as the benchmark bajaclaws.

Yup, when I went to the Bilsteins on my green Comanche it was night and day... Moral of the story don't buy the cheapest shocks that fit.

I knew that the cheap shocks suck and knew that I really needed something stiffer than most of the shelf setups and the 9000xl rancho stood up really well under my superduty without breaking the back. Between the 4 link rear, better offset and lighter tires and the front shocks I am truly impressed with what it’ll do for what a pos it is. The internet said it would never flex ,ride like crap and be useless but it really holds its own. Another inch of uptravel in the front would be nice but that’s a lot of work.

Small thing but irritating. One side has always moved no matter how tight so put some tack welds to hopefully slow that down some. Hate this setup for adjustment but not worth the cost at this point in time to change.

Nothing to update. Daily drove it for a couple months even. The milestar tires are awesome, the new front shocks helped a ton. This thing is a beast for what it is and holds its own. It’s going to need some lower control arms and some front end maintenance so I quit daily driving it hoping it’ll make most of the winter as is.

Not a big surprise here, my scabbed together tcase is on its way out. Front drive kicked out a couple times on the last 2 runs. Going to run it until it won’t stay and be careful shifting it. Hope it’ll make most of the winter. Then I’ll drop the 231 into it.

No real surprise but this thing continues to amaze me with how it performs. I know I have enough miles on it to know how to make it work and am used to it’s quirks but still last trip out Scott with the jl rubi and 37” nittos couldn’t keep up with me. He’s new and has lots to learn but his Jeep should be a lot better than mine. This Jeep of mine takes a beating, it’s always out front breaking trail, taking dumb lines, and spend lots of time flat out on the limiter.

definitely ive got a buddy that always builds his rig the same. Tj platform winch, minimal lift, 32s, lockers and skidplates. if he says he is coming along with us on a nasty trail. nobody even bats an eye.
