Re: Link
They actually fit fairly well. These rims have 4.5” backspace. The stock ones are 6.25”. These rims won’t hold the gladiator lug nuts as they are bigger. And they also have a lot of tire poke. I might run down to the local tire shop and have him swap them onto the stock wheels for now. There’s a couple inches of room as is and maybe 3” to the bumpstop. Surprising how much room there is in the wheel wells.

And that’s the 37’s. Lock to lock no rubbing. It’ll rub at full flex but pretty good all in all for bone stock. I have most if not all of my travel vertical. But as it flexes I’m sure it’ll rub. Super awesome though

Re: Link
Not only am I surprised on how they fit, I’m more impressed with how it drives. I haven’t touched the electronics yet to calibrate the speedo/trans shifting. It still drives really well. Decent power. If this was 2007 you could say it’s awesome Power, I’m running a gear lower but the math says that should be about right since adding 5” of actually tire height difference. Granted the milestar tires are fairly light and roll well combined with factory wheels help a bunch.
I’ve been contemplating just a leveling kit for the mean time but I don’t want to because it might delay me from actually putting a proper kit in this. The rear end is choppy ride, maybe the rear tires are a bit over inflated. They are all at 31 psi which is about what I ran on the wj.

Re: Link
Was out doing truck stuff. Hauling lumber home, garbage up to the dump and sidetracked into a favorite picture spot. Was icy so I took an “alternative” line instead of the road as it was of camber and really icy. Going up no big deal there was enough snow to cushion a big hit, coming down however I had already used the snow. Hit the bumpstop fairly hard, not a brutal hit but definitely used the bumpstop fully on the drivers side and surprised I didn’t actually hit my fender.

Re: Link
Honestly I'm tempted to trade my JK in for one... Which is stupid.
Is it good enough you're fully enjoying the koolaid?

Re: Link
I really do enjoy it. I really want to reserve full judgement on it until I’ve wheeled it a bit. It’s big, and low. I should have grabbed a picture, at the lumber store I was parked next to a 90’s F-150 and the Jeep had similar wheelbase, Similar width but with 37’s on it towered over it. I don’t think there’s a more well rounded vehicle out there. Sure you can tow more or pack more in other trucks but they don’t wheel like the Jeep at all. I really like the feel of it.Scott Cee AKA 2drx4 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:33 pm Honestly I'm tempted to trade my JK in for one... Which is stupid.

Re: Link
Well next “mod” is in. Ordered in a Tazer mini, so I could calibrate my speedo for the tire size and lower my tire pressure monitor settings so my light goes out. Spent more time than I probably should have setting it up. But it’s in. I’ve got the turn assist like the bronco, backup camera comes on with signal lights or with a push button. I can kill traction control, auto park when you open the door in drive and lots of other stuff.

Re: Link
Nifty.
I always thought the programmers available for the JK were completely lacking in useful features, beyond turning off DRLs for your janky Chinese LED headlights, and changing tire size. You *should* be able to do so much more. At least that one sounds far more useful.

Re: Link
Reality it’s gimmicky , I needed something for the speedo and it was all I could find in stock, and it made a big difference to drivability, it’s noticeably smoother shifting and driving now. Long term is handy, if I find a parts Jeep and upgrade to proximity door sensors or the larger display screen I can activate those and the options they use, like front camera, the big wheelbase I feel the turn assist could help at times, again gimicky but has the potential to be handy. The backup camera switch is handy though, and in places like Kelowna or Vancouver turning the camera on when signaling is handy. For most of my driving I don’t use it aside from the tire size and pressureScott Cee AKA 2drx4 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:24 am Nifty.

Re: Link
I’m really surprised how good the traction control system works. I went down an atv trail with drifted snow and ice just below the bumper. 4 hi and heavy throttle and it would turn 4 grand or better and spin enough to clear the tires. Used the turn assist at the bottom making a 120 degree corner that I really didn’t want to stop in and lose momentum. Was handy.

Re: Link
Nothing exciting, but got more gear in it. Have a 1”x30’ kinetic strap, soft shackles, hitch with metal shackle, my big smittybuilt air compressor, 4 ratchet straps, winter work gloves, tire repair kit, folding saw and folding snow shovel, all under the rear seat. That’s my basic everyday stuff. Considering I had no where secure in the tundra for any of this, I’m fairly happy with it.
