This will be a long slow process as I don’t have too much time or cash to put towards her. But I got my Grand in 2016 from Sorento.
Was ran that way for a LONG time, roached out both of those cylinders. Had to rebuild the engine.
Bored the 360 .20 over, stock compression (that was a mistake) Melling MTA-1 RV Cam, Edelbrock Performer Intake and did the Ford TFI ignition upgrade as well
That’s a large portion of the major work I have done besides some 31/10.5r15’s, the Jeep already had a BDS 4 inch lift which was a huge bonus. Rebuilt the Trac-Loc rear end and done a bunch of brake work, still need to bleed and fix the soft pedal it has. Also upgraded the headlights with some H4 Conversion Lenses, and some ludicrously high wattage bulbs which really helped the crappy stock lights.
Did that properly with ceramic H4 plugs, correctly gauged wire for the amperage and Relays to control the switching off the stock harness (no cutting of the stock wiring)
And other small cosmetic things like the custom plaid headliner, gotta stay classy ;)
I will try and update this as repairs and modifications continue!
Guy I got it off was.... well an idiot. Barely had it running when I went to test drive it, but I didn’t care too much. Previous owner and “mechanic” did some stupid stuff. He installed an electric fuel pump for “starvation issues” that was actually just the sock fell off the pickup in the tank... think he would have clued in when it was running out of fuel consistently at half a tank. Also managed to have a “carburetor” issue that had it running on six cylinders, turns out two of the plugs were completely closed. No mechanical damage to the engine so it was an installation issue. 1987 Grand Wagoneer slow build

That's impressively stupid. Ya.... at first I was worried something was seriously messed up but re gapped the plugs, stuffed them back in and it ran WAY better, had really low compression on those two holes but they suddenly weren’t missing anymore...Scott Cee AKA 2drx4 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:47 am That's impressively stupid. Buddy told me the story of him putting the little electric pump in on the side of the road because he thought that would fix the starvation issue.
First time it happened to me you could tell it was starting to happen when the fuel was sloshing.... was a pretty easy fix if you took the time to diagnose things... buddy made me promise I was going to take care of the Jeep to, evidently unlike himself
