I saw this and laughed... then realized it actually might have a practical use. It's fairly often you hear of an enclosed trailer being stolen with a U4/Prostreet/SxS/Buggy/whatever expensive shit in it. Nobody would ever expect that with this thing. It's a trailer that looks like it has -$500 worth of value. You could cook meth in it, but why steal one to do that when you could be given the same thing for free.

Plus, "RVs" are exempt from the scales.

Is this an amazing idea, or do I need to stop drinking?

The usefulness I see is that 99.9% of the time you can tow a 30ft+ dilapidated camper right by the DOT pigs without so much as a second look whereas the same is not true for a normal enclosed trailer.

I would also like to extend the magical powers it gives that honda ridgeline for towing that camper let alone the car inside

Exactly. Here they're exempt from going into the scales and the CVSE (like DOT) don't want to touch them because they aren't really in their mandate. Every year thousands of these sketchy trailers take to the road and are only harassed if they have obvious major issues (wheels/tires missing, they're on fire, large peices falling off, propane tanks dragging by the hoses, etc), the rest don't even get a second glance.

That’s all kinds of awesome. I know people that would do that and park it in my yard to store it

sling a hammock in that thing and throw the mini bbq in the truck and its a full on toy hauler camper! Plus you can make the in laws stay in it when they visit.
