Haggen Creek FSR

Post by Scott Cee AKA 2drx4 »

A friend and I went up Haggen Creek FSR back in July. It's very overgrown due to having been deactivated a long time ago, but you can make it quite a ways assuming you're willing to get some fresh pinstriping.

Here's my buddy crossing one of the creeks. There's a couple of them. He had to reevaluate how his roof rack was attached after that.

This is a very rough map of how far we made it.

It would likely have been possible to go farther but there was a bridge out at the end, and we could not find a suitable place to cross as the remains of the bridge were actually in the way. We were running out of time and gave up, thinking that we couldn't get any farther anyway, reviewing maps of the area later revealed this was likely wrong. This was also a considerable distance, my odometer clocked the whole trip as 230 miles (370km) starting at the Eastway Esso by the Prince George airport.

That looks like a great trip. I will add that to my list for next year.

Be prepared to smash some brush on the way. I'd love to go up again, because I think we can go farther. There is potential to get high enough to be into the alpine... Which would be spectacular.

I would definitely be down to head in there. The xterra doesn't have straight, unscratched body panel left. So no problem with tight trails.

Go up Bowron FSR until it turns into Narrow Lake FSR and take the first right after the bridge. Follow Haggen FSR up. Depending how far they plow Bowron it will be quite the trek.

Would be down to try it in the snow, but I bet my tires are too small.
