Yeah, but it'll clean all the corrosion and crusties off like nothing!

Re: Picture of the day thread!
Buddy sent me this picture this morning of his 2010ish 4.7 v8 tundra. Apparently he hit a snow drift and sucked snow into air filter and it ate the lid of the air filter at -35. He stepped on gas and it went bang and quit. He pulled some air box parts out of the throttle body but it ate some of it.

At least it's relatively soft. Might not have really ruined anything internal.Scoobienorth wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 7:45 am Buddy sent me this picture this morning of his 2010ish 4.7 v8 tundra. Coworker was staying late tonight to change his diff oil because it was starting to make some noise.

Re: Picture of the day thread!
I initially thought pinion bearings went out or pinion nut backed off. But I guess both the carrier bearings are shot and the whole carrier is torquing over into the pinion. Pretty bad, looks like water contamination of the oil started it all.
He ordered a bearing kit and I'd give him a hand but I'm going to another hangar for a bit. He'll figure it out though.
