I'm running the Cambodian Tire AGMs. They're a good deal when on sale. One was DOA but no failures on any other ones, and that's with leaving them in the plow truck and the Comanche that are rarely started. I learned from the DOA one to demand a test on any battery from there before leaving, once you walk out the store they will only process it as a warranty claim.

i've only heard good things about odyssey from people that have run them, but never used one personally.

i'm honestly kind of tempted to try out the duracell AGM's, which i guess are a branded east penn battery. made in :usa: stuff

well, didn't realize odyssey's were also made in :usa: stuff  man, everything beats out the few mexican optimas that turned me off that brand years ago!

There's really only a couple different manufacturers of all of the "mainstream" batteries. Somebody had the list before?

X2 on the crappy tire battery, it's my DD, but I had some health issues for a couple months and it held a charge. Only time it let me down was because I left my lights on overnight...

looking at replacement cost optima being the cheapest. Odyssey is marginally more with Napas house brand being the most expensive and only available as a top post model. I prefer dual post

I haven't heard anything recently so I'd assume nothing has changed. :rasta:

think im going to single group 31 yellow top as can get them for about the same price as the 34/78 yellow tops im running now. a single one should be ok as its got more CCA and Reserve then a single 34/78, i am running dual batteries right now but feel like only time i need 2 is on long winch pulls. am running a 130amp alternator so should be ok going back to a single battery

I've got a red top Optima in my DD that I installed in Dec 2003. It still works. Vehicle spent 7 years in between on a Battery Tender.

But this battery was from before Optima shit the bed.
Always tip.
