Apparently we're being hit with an increase in Spam recently. Unfortunately I'm at work and we're fairly busy right now, so I can't look for a better solution (upgrade the Captcha plugin for example) right now. So please just report these posts and we will ban and delete as needed.

The anti-spam plugin has been changed to a new one. We will see if it works better or not. Please continue to report these posts and users.

And we're trying this again. On to reCAPTCHA v2. Hopefully this will work.

Still not solved completely and I think we will have to go to moderator approved registration as I can't find a better solution.

whack a mole seems to work pretty well.

just reported a bot for ya, but a couple spam bots slipping through and getting reported isnt' that big of a deal. easy registration is worthwhile
