Soft Shackles

Who is using them, and have you found they hold up well?

I bought a couple buy honestly never take them with me. The only place they seem to make sense is for combining two recovery or tow straps.

I like this idea of using the soft shackle as a snatch block

I’d assume you would use that with synthetic rope

I think you'd have to. I'm not sure how good that would be for the rope of the shackle either way. Seems like it's asking to friction burn it, especially if it's not perfectly clean. I'd certainly be curious to see it done though.

I’ve got a soft shackle. Haven’t used it much.

I keep a set of soft shackles and 20ft kinetic rope in my 1500 and the wifes zr2 and have used them probably a dozen times. Had no problems and they seem to be holding together just fine. Pulled a couple power wagons out and 1/2 tons as well. Usualy snow wheeling/exploring so no real nasty yanks out of a mud pit or nothing. I'm definitely cautious of where I hook them because I worry they will cut . But so far so good!!
