Had some help over the weekend and knocked off a bunch of items. Finally was able to do some clearance checks
Rear: pretty close to full bump here have a couple inches more even though it doesn’t look like it in the pic. Other side is at limit strap.

On the front I cut the fender to the top body line and cleaned up the firewall of all protrusions. I can get to full bump on passenger side. I have some slight rub age. But on driver side my trac bar bolt head hits the diff at about 1.5” before bump so I’m going to bump it up to prevent that and will still have plenty of wheel travel for a daily grocery getter.

Not too bad, I actually was surprised and stoked at the same time. First time we had the sway bar connected still and Brad was like, "the front doesn't even flex, this thing sucks" :lmao: :lmao:

Hahaha. Rear could also drop a bit more with some longer shocks.

Finally finished up the bumper yesterday. It has a deck lid to access the hitch pin and also has some storage. Got some bullet hinges and put a turny lock thingy on it to latch it down. Ignore the hacked up hole for the 7 pin connector, Micheal J was running the plasma on that one :flipoff:

Image

Welfare hooked me up with some pull pins and used them for the swing gate to close and hold it open. Had to get somewhat creative to get the rear hatch to clear the tire, with it being angled in.
Image

Spun up some bushings for the pins
Image

And to hold it open. You can see where I had to grind it down to get it to open further for hatch clearance. Added a small gusset, don’t think it’s going anywhere.
Image

And with it being held open. Be easier to get the shopping bags in the back this way

Good idea with the extra pin point to pin it open.

So, put a few miles on the man van over the last weekend. Did a shakedown run and figured the brakes could use a power bleed at PointsNorth. With that looked after I took it to work and everything seems pretty good. Steering pump could use an upgrade as the 1 3/4” ram is pushing its flow capacity but still manageable. Parked beside buddies stock F150 and the Jeep is lower. Pretty happy with ride height overall.

Then tested out the 4wheel drive on a very mild deactivated road. Every thing worked mint, my wife drove it the entire time and was all grins.
Image

Checked over everything, only issues are my tailgate swing is banging pretty hard so have to come up with a way to hold it down as I have it strapped right now. And the upper rear links are banging around as they are smaller than the mount so will whip up some small spacers. Also the muffler is heating up my Tcase more than I’d like so will make a heat shield.
Took it for a 2hr hyway road trip with no issues, cruise at 110km with the heated seats onImage overall pretty happy with it so far.

Small update:

I did a WJ PS pump swap. The WJ runs the cooling fan off the pump so it is a factory high pressure high flow pump, basically a bolt in minus the larger resi that I had to bend the HP line around and the HP line fitting. I had to swap with my ZJ fitting and drill it out to 5/16”. I took no pics as it’s basically just a pump swap but what a difference it made! It’s the polar opposite now and actually a bit too touchy on the hyway, need to get use to it again, but overall really stoked on it.

Also had a pretty close call, my upper links in the rear are a tad small so there were banging around inside the mounts, I had driven it to work a few times and coming home I noticed the bang was a bit more than I previously felt. Climbed underneath to check if the links had backed off to find my upper link mount bolts all gone minus one, that I removed by handImageImageImage

From the last bolt it looks like the flat washer cracked allowing the lock washer to free up and bolts backed out. I doubled up the flats with one size up, lock washer and blue locktite and will keep an eye on them.

Out for another drive, I got to drive it this time. Felt good, will work some more kinks out as we go.
