Looks stout enough. Was it just easier to make it wider than the frame like that, or just too much stuff in the way otherwise? Not that it matters that it sticks out a bit, it's not wider than the spring hangers.

was easier to make for sure. last truck had a similar set up but didnt stick out as far, feel like it wont be an issue as like you said does not stick out past the leaf springs hangers. at a later point if i link the truck it will be easy to add more to the mounts and beef it up ect

added another crossmember behind the tcase that the traction bar will attach to. didnt have any tube clamps but had some smaller tube that fit so rear section slides into them on the trans crossmember then skid plate between the two. its angled up towards the back of the truck so the skid plate shouldnt see to much action, its just some old street sign aluminum so not super stout but easy to replace and this is not a rock crawler

got the 43s mounted up, still need the wheel spacers but even with them it narrowed up the truck so still got what i was after and didnt loose any height. got a wicked deal on some Dirty life wheels and i feel like they are the right fit for the look of the truck

chipping away at small projects

spare tire hold down and set of overland traction pads just cause

removed my fancy pmw fan controller as couldnt get it to work and was working around it but running fans at 70% duty and was not enought to keep truck cold. went back to a circuit breaker and relay set up but controlled by my efi. with controller removed i had room on the fender for my ARB knock off compressor. went simple on the wiring set up with a bracket to hold the relay and a switch vs wiring it into the cab ect

Simple is often better, especially with wiring.

finally made it out wheeling on the weekend. traction bar made a world of difference as can give it some throttle now and it just hooks up. the 43s are wicked in the snow we hit, both other rigs on boggers you could see the treads in the snow where they would dig. the 43s stayed up little higher and didnt dig, almost left a perfect tread pattern in the snow

Right on. Looks good. Glad to hear it’s working good. Those tires are early gaining popularity for sure.
