Get a shitty cellphone to video the AFR on WOT. Poor man's datalogging.HillBilt wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:05 am My AFRs are mint on idle and cruise parameters. Actually way too rich on cold start choke mode. hard to tell on WOT as I’m not really watching the screen haha. Fuel pump issues were 3yrs ago, but who knows, maybe some damage occurred as it would of been lean.

That’s actually a really good idea. Could mount my phone to record it for a few WOT passes.Scott Cee AKA 2drx4 wrote:Get a shitty cellphone to video the AFR on WOT. Re: 2020 Insanity Fab Winter Challenge Prep
Plugs got changed every fall for PM. I just put new plugs in it about 1hr before it let go. Plugs were always black and fouled which is why I routinely changed them. It was never suspected of having a lean condition. I dont think you would get a read from any of the other ones as they were brand new. Ill pull it apart in time, just at the absolute bottom of my list of to-dos atm.
I was thinking about my fuel, as it does alot of sitting, with fuel now days having a way shorter shelf life maybe degraded enough to the point it was detonating? It hasn't ran since July..
On another note. The Rental motor is in and running as of last night. Needs alot of tuning. Everyone is commenting on how mean the motor sounds, but its more poor tuning than anything. After I redo the initial tune and get some drive time on it, I feel it will calm down a bit. My motor did the exact same thing on first fire until the computer learned, and the rental is running off my old motor tune right now.

Thats not suprising as its a whole new animal. And as far as the plugs go you may be able to see specs of aluminum on them if other cylinders were having issues. I still think you may have gotten a batch of fuel thats not what it was advertised as. The import guys see it all the time because their knock sensors dial back the timing.

Attempted to build my own inserts from some UHMW. Kind of a fail, maybe with some steel clamps one could heat it up to help maintain the shape. But wasn’t going to invest a lot of time at this point. Got HMF to cut me some steel cage inserts instead.

Truck is in glass shop today getting a new windshield with no rubber centre seam. Got all the wiper linkage made up and working. Waiting on a motor to arrive. Went with a YJ wiper motor.
