496 tune session

Post by HillBilt »

Went out for about a 3hr test/tune in the skinny chicken. Cruising FSRs and some mild trails to get a tune for the rental. When I first reset it it would barely run but cleaned up fairly quick. Motor has a lot more brap than my old 468 did.

This was down a mild trial. Trans shifts we’ll and got to let it eat a bit. Was fun

Then tried out a rock pile off the road and got surprised by the ice under the snow and ended up in the culvert haha. Quick winch and we were out. This was right when the motor started to actually idle so was happy about that.

Motor still needs some more driving to get better but it’s getting there.

Sweet. Sounds like your engine fragging itself might actually have worked out in your favour.

Not really. I would rather not run a rental motor, as I have a check ready to hand over if this one scatters. But I am grateful that hes giving me the opportunity to still compete. And at the end of the day I still need to get another motor
