I think my 4.0’s are the newer style and won’t fit. But I’d only sell the motor as a whole. Steve might have one in Vernon though on a parts motor.

I think it’s the older style 4.0 with the distributor. I thought all xj’s were the older style motor, 99 the wj got the newer style motor and ‘02 the tj got it?

Nope. 99 (IIRC) they went to coil packs with the new head, which lasted until the end of production. It's an upgrade, other than the heads crack. Chrysler really fucked around with the last few years of the XJ for some reason, they even went to a low pinion D30 front after an XJ never having been cursed with one since their production started in 84.
